Understanding who we are and why we believe in the power of convergent thinking across creative industries.
tide-drift emerged from a simple observation: the most interesting work was happening at intersections. Engineers collaborating with artists. Strategists learning from makers. Technologists finding inspiration in craft traditions.
Founded in Dublin in 2019, we set out to help organisations intentionally cultivate these productive collisions. Rather than treating cross-functional work as an occasional project requirement, we saw it as the foundation for sustainable innovation.
Our name reflects this philosophy—the gradual, powerful movement of ideas across boundaries, reshaping landscapes through persistent, natural force rather than sudden disruption.
We believe the artificial walls between technology, art, and business actively harm organisations and limit human potential. A developer who cannot appreciate design constraints, a designer who dismisses commercial realities, a business leader who sees creativity as decoration—all represent missed opportunities.
Our work focuses on building bridges. Sometimes that means workshops that bring different departments into genuine dialogue. Sometimes it means consulting engagements that help leadership see possibilities they've overlooked. Always it means treating cross-disciplinary fluency as a skill that can be developed, not a rare gift.
Everyone at tide-drift has built things. Software systems, creative campaigns, businesses, products. We consult from experience, not theory alone.
Our backgrounds span software engineering, industrial design, brand strategy, product management, and fine arts. This diversity isn't incidental—it's essential to understanding and facilitating cross-boundary work.
These beliefs shape every engagement and guide our approach to helping organisations evolve.
Every organisation has unique dynamics. We adapt our methods to your reality rather than forcing frameworks designed elsewhere.
If we don't think we can help, we'll say so. If a different approach would serve you better, we'll recommend it even if it means less work for us.
Quick wins matter less than lasting capability. We aim to leave organisations better equipped to continue evolving after our engagement ends.
Whether you have a specific project in mind or want to explore possibilities, we're happy to have an initial conversation.
